Mahabharat actor Puneet Issar was voted out of the reality show Bigg Boss on January 3. Having failed to make it to the list of final five for Halla Bol, a month-long extension of the show, Issar claimed he was rather relieved to be back with his family.
“The first thing I did (after coming out of the Bigg Boss hosue) was hug my wife and kids and say all my sorrys and thank yous. I am really thankful for the experience as it made me realise how important people around me are in my life.”
Asked about allegations that Dimpy Ganguli tried to break his ‘band of boys’, P3G (Pritam, Praneet, Puneet and Gautam), the actor who played Duryodhan on the small screen, said, “What Dimpy did was wrong and I told her so. When she abused Pritam during a task and he abused back, I told her this was not the way she should play. She replied it was her style. I think we need to function as human beings, above the game. We must not lose ourselves in the game. She may have her own reasons, but that does not make her right.”
In his journey inside the Bigg Boss house, Puneet was blamed for being impulsive and manipulative. “This is a format where you are expected to put forward your views. Not only did I voice my opinions, I also ensured they were loud and clear. If people think that’s wrong, I can’t care for them.”
He added, “When I came out (of the show), I got calls saying ex-contestants were blaming me for their evictions. People who are abusing me after being evicted, I sympathise with them. It is really stupid to say I got them out of the show. That power lies with the public alone. For me, all that was there in the game is past. I cannot blame Gautam, Pritam, Dimpy, Ali or Karishma for being voted out of the show. The audience must have had enough of me and didn’t want me anymore on the show.”
Talking about the possible winners in Bigg Boss 8, Puneet said, “I feel Gautam and Pritam are strong contenders among the champions and among the new lot (challengers), I believe Rahul Mahajan is the strongest candidate.”
No lingering heartburn for him. “I do not carry any grudges from the game and hope to meet everyone outside the show as well. Of course P3G remains. Once Bigg Boss 8 is over, I will make sure I meet Gautam, Pritam, Praneet on a regular basis.”
Talking of his future projects, Puneet said he would start working on his movie on wrestler Gama, which Salman Khan is producing.
He added he had received several interesting offers for reality shows. “My dance was really appreciated in Bigg Boss and Colors TV has approached me for their dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. I hope to take part in Jhalak.”
